About us
Having worked for 21 years in Canada, I realized that it was time for a change.
During my visits to India, I was always very fascinated during my shopping trips by the different varieties of fabrics and embroidery, as well as the culture and traditions, interwoven among these garments and fabrics.
Growing up, I loved wearing good quality sarees and lehngas, blouses, and batwas, and I felt the need to introduce the same here. The intricate work and the personal touch of the people, really made it even more special.
The exposure that I got during my visits to India was incredibly vast. I was awestruck by the work of local artisans. There was so much creativity and fine detailing, that even the smallest personal touch with the intricacy of hand embroidery, made an ensemble stand out. Our hope is to deliver this same high level of artisan detail to our clients in Canada.
Blue Aster Ensembles is a bespoke firm with the sole aim to make your special day even more special. Whether it be for a wedding, sangeet, mehendi, or any other special function, we strive to work around your budget and deliver a garment that is the best fit for you and your occasion.
My Inspiration:
This time I went with my daughter to India for a family visit and as she was already engaged, we did some wedding shopping as I was awestruck by the artisans. My designer from over a decade left us in awe with her splendid skills and all her outfits looked stupendous. She had worked tediously ensuring that everything was to our tastes. They both looked elegant and regal on their special day.
And now, I hope to bring this same experience to all of you.
Warmly,
Bespoke for Her and Him
We specialize in intricately handwoven embroidery and zardozi work. Zardozi is a type of heavy and elaborate metal embroidery on silk, satin, and velvet fabric, incorporated with silver and gold threads, beads, pearls and precious stones. It was more used by the royals to adorn their attire, household textiles and art.
Embroidery. India is known for its distinctive style of handmade embroidery, a method which resonates with every region of India. Mostly done by locals for a living, this type of embroidery involves very fine work, intricately hand sewn with minute details, and with a display of very vibrant and earthy colours.
We bring to you this art to show the culture and traditions of India. We can also come up with a fusion of east and west to cater to your special occasion.
